The SQBDY STEEL Founding Production Series

Squarebody Headquarters was created to support and advance one of the most iconic truck platforms ever built: the 1973–1987 Chevrolet and GMC Squarebody.

More than ten million of these trucks were produced, and decades later they remain one of the most recognized and modified trucks in the automotive world. Enthusiasts restore them, builders transform them into high-end restomods, and collectors continue to search for the best examples.

But one thing never existed.

A brand-new Squarebody truck.

After decades working in the custom automotive industry—beginning in the hot rod era of the 1990s and later contributing to nationally recognized automotive television projects including American Hot Rod, Overhaulin’, My Dream Car, Holden Bros  and Wheeler Dealers—Squarebody Headquarters founder Mark Oja began developing a new approach to the platform.

Instead of restoring aging trucks, the goal became clear: build them new again.

Through their development of newly manufactured cab structures assembled from dozens of individual panels, Squarebody Headquarters established the foundation needed to build complete trucks from entirely new body structures.

From that capability, a new vehicle program was born.

SQBDY STEEL

SQBDY STEEL represents a limited production series of brand-new Squarebody trucks built using newly manufactured cab structures and modern chassis systems engineered for contemporary driving performance.

Each truck is individually commissioned and serialized as part of a controlled production run.

The first builds form the SQBDY STEEL Founding Production Series, beginning with:

• SQBDY STEEL 001 — Heritage Edition

An OEM-inspired truck honoring the original character and proportions of the Squarebody.

• SQBDY STEEL 002 — Performance X Edition

A modern restomod built with contemporary performance and engineering.

• SQBDY STEEL 003 — Terrain Edition

An off-road platform designed around a modern high-performance chassis.

These first trucks establish the beginning of a new production era for the Squarebody platform.

SQBDY STEEL is not a restoration program.

It is a limited production series of brand-new Squarebody trucks.
